Kipfit Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Kipfit handles your information across the Kipfit iPhone app, Apple Watch app, and the kipfitapp.co.ke website.

In Short

Core tracking is designed to work on-device. If you stay in guest mode, your fitness data primarily remains on your device and in Apple Health.

Social Features

If you sign in with Apple and use groups or leaderboards, Kipfit sends only the limited account and activity summaries needed to run those features.

Who we are

Kipfit is provided by Bridgetree Technologies. In this policy, "Kipfit," "we," "our," and "us" refer to Bridgetree Technologies and the Kipfit app and website.

Information we collect

Health and workout data on your device. With your permission, Kipfit can read data from Apple Health, such as step count, walking and running distance, flights climbed, calories, heart rate, workouts, and workout routes used to display your progress and workout history inside the app.

Account and profile data. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive the information needed to create and maintain your Kipfit account, including your Apple-authenticated user identifier, email address if Apple shares it, display name, and authentication tokens.

Social and leaderboard data. If you use groups, invites, or leaderboards, we process the minimal server-side data needed to provide those features, including group membership, invite codes or tokens, display name, daily step totals, and completed run summaries such as distance, duration, completion time, and workout identifier.

Device, app, and operational data. We may process basic technical data such as app version, device type, IP address, request timestamps, and server logs required to secure and operate the service.

Notification preferences. If you enable notifications, we store the settings needed to send reminders, streak updates, and related app alerts on your device.

How we use information

We use information to run the app, show your progress, calculate goals and achievements, save workouts to Apple Health where applicable, authenticate your account, operate groups and leaderboards, secure the service, and respond to support requests.

We do not use Health data for advertising, marketing profiles, or data brokerage. We do not sell your personal information.

What stays on-device

Your raw HealthKit history is intended to remain on your device and in Apple Health. Kipfit is designed not to upload full Health exports, heart rate history, or precise route maps to our servers for social ranking features.

Your local goals, achievements, and many app preferences are stored on your device unless and until a feature explicitly requires server-side processing.

When we share information

With people you choose to connect with. If you join a group or leaderboard, other members may see your display name and the scores or activity summaries needed for that feature.

With Apple and related platform services. Apple provides Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, the App Store, and other platform features that Kipfit depends on. Their handling of data is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy disclosures.

With service providers. We may use infrastructure and hosting providers to operate Kipfit. Those providers may process data only on our behalf and only as needed to run the service.

For legal and security reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or enforce our terms.

Retention

On-device data remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, or remove it from Apple Health according to Apple's controls. Authentication tokens remain in your device keychain until you sign out, they expire, or they are otherwise removed.

Server-side account and social data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Kipfit, comply with law, resolve disputes, and keep the service secure. If you want your Kipfit account deleted, contact us using the details below.

Your choices

You can choose whether to grant Health, notification, and location permissions. You can also use guest mode for local tracking, sign out of your account, stop using social features, or use the in-app delete option for local app data.

You can manage Health permissions in iOS Settings and Apple Health. If you want us to delete server-side account data, email us at info@bridgetreetech.co.ke.

Children's privacy

Kipfit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above.
